Detox Poker Series: James Wheatley Wins Main Event & Overall Leaderboard

When play got down to heads-up, there were several discussions between Brian Watkins and James Wheatley about a deal, but before they could make one, it all ended very quickly. Wheatley limped from the button with [4c][6s] and Watson checked, bringing them to a flop of [6d][8s][8h]. Watson checked, Wheatley bet 150,000 and Watson called, with the turn coming down with the [8d]. Watson moved all-in and Wheatley though it over for a minute or so, eventually calling. Watson had just [Jh][9d], and the river brought no help, securing both the title and the player of the series award for Wheatley.

It was his second title this series, having won the 7-Game Event earlier. He picked up $38,111 after the deal, while Watson walked away with $32,994 for his second place finish.
