Derek Payne Wins Event #9 - $350 NLHE Shootout


Derek Payne made it three-for-three by finishing off Dustin Lytle. On the final hand, Payne moved all-in on a board of [Ad][Qd][4c][Ks] and was called by Lytle. Lytle was in big trouble as his [Jd][9d] was well behind the [Js][Tc] that Payne had for the nut straight. There was no ten or diamond on the river, and Lytle was crowned the champion of Event #9.

Event #8 $350 NLHE Shootout - Craig Doyle Eliminated in 3rd Place

Derek Payne continued his strong run at the final table by eliminating Craig Doyle in 3rd place. Doyle will get $1,530 for his finish.

Payne holds a fairly substantial lead over Dustin Lytle entering heads-up play.

Event #9 $350 NLHE Shootout - Eric Baldwin Eliminated in 4th Place



Baldwin was on a short stack and made a three-bet bluff shove with ten-six offsuit and ran into the pocket tens of Derek Payne. The board provided no relief and Baldwin was eliminate. He will receive $1,020 for his efforts.

Joseph Neiman Wins Event #8 - $350 Six-Max NLHE

With the elimination of Michael Linzer in third place, Joseph Neiman and James Hoeppner made a deal for the remaining prize money based on stack sizes. By virtue of his 2-1 chip lead, Neiman takes home $6,308 and the trophy.

Final Table action is about to get underway. Players are back to stacks of 5,000 and blinds of 25/50. The levels will be 40 minutes.

With the elimination of Sam Grizzle in 7th, the remaining six players are all in the money, and each has locked up at least $885.

Event #9 $350 NLHE Shootout - Final Table Set

Eric Baldwin won his heads-up match, as did Derek Payne. Here are the seating assignments for the final table, which is scheduled to start at 10 pm.

Each player is guaranteed $1,020.

Event #9 $350 NLHE Shootout - Halfway to the Final Four

Dustin Lytle just defeated James Wheatley heads-up and is the second of four to qualify for the final table.

Both of the other tables are down to heads-up play, with Eric Baldwin about even with his opponent in one of the heads-up matches.

Event #9 - $350 NLHE Shootout - We Have Our First Winner

The first of four tables in the No Limit Hold'em Shootout has been completed, and it will be Craig Doyle advancing to the final table of four and locking up at least $1,020.

There is one table playing heads-up and the other two tables are four-handed. One of the four handed tables (the featured table) has both Eric Baldwin and Justin Young in contention. The other four-handed table has 7-Game event winner James Wheatley vying for his second title.

So far the eliminations have included Layne Flack, Gavin Smith, Bryan Micon, Ylon Schwartz, Joe Tehan and Jess Welman.

Event #8 - $350 Six-Max NLHE - Dinner Break, On the Bubble

Just before the scheduled one hour dinner break, players reached the unofficial final table of 7. Sam Grizzle lost a massive pot on a Q436 board with 44 against 57. He has just 4500 chips and is the shortest stack with blinds going to 400/800 when players return from the break.

There are 14 players left out of 34 players who started out the tournament. The four tables have 5, 4, 3, and 2 players respectively. Here is what the table winners will be playing for:

Players have just returned from a break, and the levels are at 150/300/25.

There are 29 players remaining, with blinds of 100/200.

Event #7 - $350 PLO 8/B - It's All Over!

Joseph Worrell of Brigantine, NJ went out in fourth place, and the three remaining players played several orbits at 2000/4000 blinds when a three-way All-In sealed the deal. Details forthcoming.

Event #7 - $350 PLO 8/B - 4 Players Left

Players are on a short break. They have elected to remove the 1200/2400 level so that the 100 chips can be taken off of the table. 4 players left, as Brian Kim, who finished second in the 7-game tournament yesterday, was eliminated in 5th place for $1,260.

Blinds are now at 1000/2000.

Event #7 is in the Money
